TOGETHER FOR A BETTER TOMORROW
On 1st December 2025, a World AIDS Day Programme was jointly organized by various government departments, health agencies, legal bodies, and educational institutions including LBAS and SBSC College, Sagar. The programme aimed to create awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention, health education, and social responsibility among students.
The event began with an introductory address by Dr. Rajesh R. Naik and was inaugurated by Mr. S. Nataraj, Hon’ble Principal Senior Civil Judge and JMFC, Sagar. It was presided over by Dr. H. M. Shivakumar. An informative lecture was delivered by Mr. Vinodkumar, ICTC Counselor, focusing on awareness, prevention, and the importance of early testing.
The programme was graced by several dignitaries from the judiciary, administration, and health departments, making it a meaningful and impactful awareness initiative.
On 01-12-2025, a World AIDS Day Programme was jointly organized at the college under the auspices of the Karnataka AIDS Prevention Society, Bangalore, the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Shimoga, the District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit, Shimoga, the Taluk Medical Officer’s Office, the Sub-Divisional Hospital ICTC Department, Sagar, the Taluk Legal Services Committee, Sagar, the Bar Association (Regd.), Sagar, along with L. B. College, Sagar, Smt. Indira Gandhi Government Women’s College, Sagar, and Government First Grade College, Sagar.
The programme aimed to create awareness about HIV/AIDS, its prevention, and the importance of social responsibility and health education among students and the community. The event commenced with an introductory address by Dr. Rajesh R. Naik, In-charge Administrative Medical Officer, Sub-Divisional Hospital, Sagar. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. S. Nataraj, Hon’ble Principal Senior Civil Judge and JMFC, Sagar, and President of the Taluk Legal Services Committee.
The session was presided over by Dr. H. M. Shivakumar, General Secretary, Malnad Development Foundation, Sagar. An informative lecture was delivered by Mr. Vinodkumar, ICTC Counselor, SDH Sagar, who highlighted key aspects of HIV prevention, awareness, and the importance of early testing and counseling.
The programme was graced by several distinguished dignitaries including Mr. Madesh M. V., Hon’ble Additional Judge and JMFC, Sagar; Mrs. Rashmi H. J., Tahsildar and Executive Magistrate, Sagar; Mr. Shivaprakash B., Executive Officer, Taluk Panchayat, Sagar; and Dr. Srinivas S. A., Taluk Health Officer, Sagar. Dr. Niranjan Murthy T. E., In-charge Principal, L. B. College, Sagar, also graced the occasion.
Among the other guests present were Mr. Chandrashekhar H. S., Assistant Government Prosecutor and Ex-officio Member Secretary, Taluk Legal Services Committee, Sagar, and Mr. M. B. Girish Gowda, President, Bar Association, Sagar.
The programme was highly informative and impactful, promoting awareness, responsibility, and a positive attitude towards health and well-being among students.
On 15th August 2025, our college NCC and NSS volunteers organized the “SWATCHH SETHU ABHIYAN” on the Sigandhur Bridge. The initiative focused on restoring cleanliness to the area and creating awareness about environmental responsibility. With dedication and teamwork, the volunteers successfully carried out the cleanliness drive, setting a positive example of community service.
