BYTECONNECT's Workshop on Cyber Security - 2026
On 25-03-2026, BYTECONNECT, the Department of Computer Science Forum, organized a one-day workshop on Upskilling Cyber Security Awareness. The session was conducted as an interactive learning experience aimed at enhancing students’ understanding of basic cybersecurity concepts and safe digital practices.
The workshop was led by Akshay Nagaraj Naik, Co-founder and CEO of Agamya Cyber Tech, who shared valuable insights into the importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital world. During the session, students learned how to use simple prompts and techniques to fetch basic information about websites, helping them analyze online platforms more effectively and safely.
The program was informative and engaging, equipping students with practical knowledge and creating awareness about responsible and secure internet usage.
ಕ್ಯಾಂಪಸ್ ಕಟ್ಟೆ (CAMPUS KATTE) PROGRAMME ON “Women Achievers”
On 20th March 2026, a ಕ್ಯಾಂಪಸ್ ಕಟ್ಟೆ (Campus Katte) Programme on the theme “ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸಾಧಕಿಯರು” (Women Achievers) was organized by Akashavani Bhadravathi in collaboration with the Department of Kannada. The programme aimed to highlight the achievements, challenges, and contributions of women in various fields, inspiring students through meaningful discussions.
Students including Sanjana, Sadwini, Chandana, Smitha, and Shravya actively participated in the programme, sharing their perspectives and engaging in thoughtful interactions. The session was skillfully conducted by Dr. Basavaraj, RJ – Akashavani Bhadravathi, who ensured an engaging and informative discussion environment.
The programme was held in the presence of Dr. A. S. Laxmisha, Principal, LBAS and SBSC College, Sagar, and served as a valuable platform for promoting awareness, confidence, and empowerment among students.
SPECIAL DISCUSSION ON KARNATAKA BUDGET 2026–27
On 18th March 2026, the Department of Economics organized a special discussion on the Karnataka Budget 2026–27, along with a poster presentation by BA and BCom students. The programme aimed to enhance students’ understanding of economic policies, budgetary allocations, and their impact on society.
During the session, BA students actively participated in discussions, analyzing key aspects of the state budget, while BA and BCom students presented informative posters highlighting important economic concepts and budget insights. The event provided a platform for critical thinking, academic interaction, and practical understanding of economics.
The programme was graced by Dr. H. M. Shivakumar, General Secretary, Malnad Development Foundation, and Dr. T. S. Raghavendra, Administrative Officer, Pragathi School, as Chief Guests. Dr. A. S. Laxmisha, Principal, LBAS and SBSC College, Sagar, was present on the occasion.
TWO DAYS WORKSHOP ON BUILDING AI CAPABILITIES
From 09th March 2026 to 10th March 2026, a two-day workshop on Building AI Capabilities was organized by IQAC in collaboration with the Career Guidance and Placement Cell. The workshop aimed to equip students with foundational knowledge and practical exposure to emerging trends in Artificial Intelligence.
The sessions were conducted by Ms. Taseena S and Mr. Gopinath, who introduced students to key AI concepts, tools, and real-world applications. Through interactive discussions and hands-on learning, participants gained insights into how AI technologies are shaping various industries and the skills required to excel in this domain.
The workshop was informative and engaging, enhancing students’ technical understanding and encouraging them to explore opportunities in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
BYTECONNECT's SPECIAL LECTURE ON CORPORATE EXPECTATIONS – ESSENTIALS OF ACQUIRING THE NECESSARY SKILL SET
On 19th February 2026, BYTECONNECT, a forum of the Department of Computer Science, organized a special lecture on “Corporate Expectations – Essentials of Acquiring the Necessary Skill Set” for BCA students. The session aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements by guiding students on essential professional and technical skills.
The lecture was delivered by Mr. Prasanna Kumar L. M., CTO of Perspicuum, who shared valuable insights into current industry expectations, skill development strategies, and career readiness. He emphasized the importance of communication skills, problem-solving ability, technical expertise, and continuous learning in building a successful career in the IT sector.
The session was highly engaging and informative, equipping students with a clear understanding of industry demands and motivating them to enhance their employability skills.
HANDS-ON WORKSHOP ON ANTIMICROBIAL RESISTANCE AND FOLDSCOPE
On 12th February 2026, the Department of Science organized a hands-on workshop on antimicrobial resistance and foldscope for life science students. The session aimed to provide practical exposure and deepen students’ understanding of emerging challenges in microbiology and life sciences.
The workshop was conducted by Dr. Anupma Harshal, Scientist at NCBS, Bangalore, who guided students through the concepts of antimicrobial resistance and demonstrated the use of foldscope as an innovative tool for microscopic observation. The interactive session enabled students to engage in practical activities, enhancing their analytical skills and scientific curiosity.
The programme was highly informative and experiential, offering students valuable insights into modern scientific techniques and real-world applications in life sciences.
EXTEMPORE SPEECH COMPETITION ON THE IMPORTANCE OF VOTING - 2026
On 22nd January 2026, an Extempore Speech Competition on the Importance of Voting was organized by NSS Unit 1 and Unit 2 to create awareness among students about their rights and responsibilities as citizens. The event encouraged participants to express their thoughts on the significance of voting in a democratic nation.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. A. S. Laxmisha of LBAS and SBSC College, Sagar, who emphasized the importance of active participation in the electoral process and responsible citizenship. Students enthusiastically took part in the competition, presenting insightful views on democracy, voter awareness, and the role of youth in nation-building.
The event was informative and inspiring, fostering civic consciousness and public speaking skills among students.
COMMERCE FUSION FEST - 2025
On 2nd December 2025, the Department of Commerce organized Commerce Fusion Fest – 2025, an intercollegiate event aimed at enhancing business acumen, creativity, and analytical skills among students. The fest witnessed active participation from students of various PU Colleges of Shimogga District, making it a lively and competitive platform.
The programme was graced by Dr. Shivakumar, Secretary, MDF (R.), Sagar, and Dr. A. S. Laxmisha of LBAS and SBSC College, Sagar, as Chief Guests, who encouraged students to develop entrepreneurial thinking and practical knowledge in the field of commerce.
The fest featured engaging events such as Business Quiz, Ad Competition, and Budding CAs, where participants showcased their knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
The event was a great success, fostering innovation, teamwork, and a spirit of healthy competition among the participants.
ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಕಲರವ (SPORTS FEST) - 2025
On 2nd December 2025, ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಕಲರವ (Sports Fest) – 2025 was organized by the Department of Physical Education and Sports, bringing together enthusiastic participants from various PU colleges across Shimogga District. The event aimed to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and cultural expression among students.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. A. S. Laxmisha of LBAS and SBSC College, Sagar, who motivated students to actively participate in sports and maintain a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
The event featured a variety of competitions including Volleyball, Kabaddi, and Rangoli, where participants showcased their athletic skills as well as creative talents. The programme witnessed energetic participation and fostered a spirit of healthy competition and unity among students.
FOUNDATION STONE LAYING CEREMONY
On 27th November 2025, a Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony was held at the college in the esteemed presence of Swastishrimadabhinava Charukeerthy Bhattaraka Mahaswamiji of the Jain Mutt, Shravanabelagola. The ceremony marked an important milestone in the development of the institution’s infrastructure and future growth initiatives.
The event was organized by the Malnad Development Foundation (R.), Sagar, in collaboration with the LB and SBS College Alumni Association, Sagar. The occasion was graced by distinguished dignitaries including B. R. Jayanth, President of Malnad Development Foundation (R.), Sagar, and Gopalakrishna Belur, Hon’ble MLA, Sagar and Chairman of Karnataka State Forest Industries Development Corporation.
The ceremony reflected a collective vision towards strengthening educational facilities and fostering academic excellence for the benefit of students and the community.
NSS SPECIAL ANNUAL CAMP 2025
On 07th to 13th November 2025, the NSS Unit of our college organized a 7-day Special Annual Camp at Tumari, Sagar. The camp focused on community development, social responsibility, and student participation in rural service activities.
Throughout the week, volunteers actively engaged in cleanliness drives, awareness rallies, health and hygiene sessions, plantation programs, and village surveys. The camp also included interactive sessions on leadership, team building, and civic responsibility, helping students develop compassion, discipline, and a spirit of service.
BYTECONNECT's NEURA – 2025
On 30th October 2025, the Department of Computer Science, under the ByteConnect Forum, organized NEURA 2025, an intercollege computer science competition designed to test students’ analytical thinking, technical skills, and programming expertise.
The event featured three challenging rounds—Quiz, Debugging, and Coding, where participants showcased their knowledge of fundamentals, accuracy in identifying logical errors, and ability to solve real-world programming problems.
Across all rounds, students demonstrated exceptional talent, problem-solving ability, and competitive spirit, making NEURA 2025 a successful and engaging technical event.

STUDENT FORUM 2025 INAUGURATION
On 29th September 2025, our college proudly inaugurated the Student Forum for the academic year 2025–26, marking the beginning of a new chapter of student leadership, creativity, and collaboration.
The event was graced by Arun Sagar, renowned Indian Actor and Art Director, who served as the Chief Guest. His inspiring address motivated students to explore their talents, think innovatively, and actively contribute to campus activities.
During the ceremony, the newly selected forum coordinators were introduced and formally inducted. The program highlighted the Forum’s vision of empowering students through cultural, academic, and community-oriented initiatives throughout the year.
ENGINEER'S DAY POSTER PRESENTATION – 2025
On 15th September 2025, the Science Forum, in collaboration with IQAC, organized an Engineer’s Day Poster Presentation to commemorate Sir M. Visvesvaraya and to encourage scientific creativity among students.
In this event, students presented their posters and PPTs on a wide range of scientific themes, including physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, and mathematical concepts. Their presentations showcased innovative ideas, practical applications, and clear scientific understanding, reflecting both creativity and strong academic interest.
The program created an engaging platform for learners to express their ideas visually and verbally, while also promoting interdisciplinary thinking and scientific awareness among participants.

NCC CAMP - 2025
From 21st August 2025 to 27th August 2025, a One Week NCC Training Camp was organized by the 20 KAR Bn NCC Wing, LB College Sagar. The camp focused on providing intensive training sessions, discipline, and personality development for NCC cadets.
Throughout the camp, cadets actively participated in various training activities, drills, and informative lectures designed to enhance their physical fitness, leadership qualities, and sense of responsibility. The program also served as a platform to identify and select deserving cadets for the prestigious Republic Day Parade – 2026 at the Red Fort, New Delhi.
The camp was highly structured and enriching, instilling values of discipline, teamwork, and national pride among the participants.
S N Hegde's Lecture on Why Elephant is So Big?
On 07th August 2025, a special lecture on the topic “Why Elephant is So Big” was organized by the LB and SBS College Alumni Association (R.) in collaboration with the Science Forum. The session aimed to provide students with scientific insights into biological structure, evolution, and the unique characteristics of large mammals.
The lecture was delivered by S. N. Hegde, who explained the topic in an engaging and thought-provoking manner, helping students understand the evolutionary, environmental, and physiological factors that contribute to the size of elephants. The session encouraged curiosity and deeper interest in biological sciences among the participants.
The program was highly informative and interactive, offering students a valuable opportunity to explore scientific concepts beyond the classroom.
“ಮಲೆನಾಡ ಮಾತುಗಾರ” - Book release function on the memorial of Late. K. H. Srinivas
On 23rd July 2025, a memorial program in honor of Late K. H. Srinivas, former Minister, renowned writer, and former President of MDF, was organised at the Devaraja Arasu Auditorium, LBAS and SBSC College Campus. The event was organized under the aegis of Malnad Development Foundation (R.) Sagar, in collaboration with Charumathi Publications, Kannada Sahitya Parishat, and Spandana Organization.
During the program, the book titled “Malenada Maatugaara(ಮಲೆನಾಡ ಮಾತುಗಾರ)” was formally released by Basavaraj Horatti, Hon’ble Chairman of the Karnataka Legislative Council. The event was presided over by B. R. Jayanth, President of MDF (R.) Sagar. Gopalakrishna Belur, Hon’ble MLA, Sagar and Chairman of Karnataka State Forest Industries Development Corporation, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The program served as a tribute to the literary and social contributions of Late K. H. Srinivas and highlighted his enduring impact on society and culture.
DR. GURURAJ KARJAGI LECTURE AND DISCUSSION
On 18th July 2025, our college organized a special Lecture and Discussion by Dr. Gururaj Karjagi. The session provided deep insights into education, leadership, and personal growth, inspiring both students and faculty. Dr. Karjagi’s engaging talk encouraged participants to think critically and apply values of excellence and service in their academic and personal lives.
LAL BAHADUR CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2025 - SEASON 1
The Lal Bahadhur Champions Trophy 2025 was a thrilling two-day cricket tournament held on 2nd and 3rd May 2025 at the LCG, showcasing the true spirit of sportsmanship and competition. Eight spirited teams – LB Smashers, EnWi, LB Legends, Malnad Hunters, LB Strikers, Tiger Titans, LB Lions, and Brave Hearts – battled it out in an intense league and knockout format.
